Blending 3D VFX and 2D Drawings in the making of "A Light in the Woods"

The talk introduces the techniques to generate advanced 3D VFX for animating the hand drawn fairy tale film "A Light in The Woods" (Hidden Hollow, Book One) by Radical Face: https://youtu.be/JxEAaeiyuZo?si=hpqFx9P…

The presentation will show leaves simulations leveraging semi porous surfaces, animated monsters made of a flock of birds, animated trees, grass and fireflies, all generated in Blender and seamlessly integrated and composited with 2D hand drawings. If time allows we will show some usage of diffusion models as a rendering backend for VFX simulations.
